Tribute to Turbs

As most may have heard, Turbs (my car) was recently traded in for a new car. I had quite an emotional time with this as we have been together for 8 years.
Now while 8 years may not seem that long, to me it was, but more so Turbs and I have been through A LOT together in those 8 years!!

I got Turbs over spring break when I was 17, which was also the same week I turned 17. I was a junior in high school and before then had only driven my mom's "lovely" Lincoln Continental, or as I referred to it..."The BOAT!!" I now had a fun, cool, sporty car of my dreams and was ready for adventure!! Well, that is exactly what Turbs and I had!

-I had many "dramatic" phone calls, talks and drives with friends in her.
-I had my first road trip, with no parents, in her down to Indiana University my senior year of high school. Where we got a little lost and ended up in some pretty scary neighborhoods!! But she kept me safe and finally got me there!
-I got asked to Prom by Jack in her.
-We had many, MANY shopping adventures, and she'd always let me keep the bags of evidence in her trunk. She never once told on me!!!
-We finished high school together.
-We went to Eastern all 4 years together.
-She took me safely to and from Dayton, down I-70, many, many, MANY times to see Jack during college.
-I had many more phone calls in her driving to and from Jack, talking with him and my parents.
-She took me safely to Eastern and home for all breaks and holidays and she never let me down with trunk/back-seat space for all my clothes! She understood my over-packing syndrome and always allowed for extra space.
-She helped me on my wedding gown and bridesmaid dress searches.
-We went to and survived student teaching together on very early, dark, and cold mornings!
-We went on interviews together - sometimes she was even the only one who knew I had an interview!!
-She was there for me on my wedding day and was there waiting for me when I got home from my honeymoon.
-She helped me move my things into our first home.
-I was finally able to give her her own in-door garage spot in 6 years!!
-We had happy, sad, stressful, thankful, and every other emotional drive to and from my first 2 years of teaching.
-We had some road rage together.
-We started my master's program together.
-She LOVED to be speedy and get me places quick - as she knows I have no time to be wasted!
-We survived two accidents together - one my fault and one, the bad one, someone else's! But she kept me safe every time!!
-We took Sadie to and from school together.
-She took me to my new school with all my classroom stuff and helped me have a great start to a new school and new school year!
...and there are SO many more memories...but those are just a few to show how much we really have been through together in 8 years!!

Turbs was one of my best friends. She never judged, she always listened, she was always there for me, she kept me safe and warm and happy, she stayed pretty and healthy, she was right there by my side for milestones and new beginnings, and she will always be in my heart forever!!!

You may read this and think I'm crazy - that's fine!! But Turbs has been my only car and we really have been through so much together in 8 years - pretty much all of my big life events that I've had so far! She may just be a car, but she was MY car and I was so appreciative and lucky to have her...and parents that let me have her!!!!!!

Sadie loved her too!!!

It was a spectacular 8 years that I wouldn't take back. For that, Turbs, I thank you!!!!!! LOVE YOU ALWAYS!!!

**P.S. - The name Turbs was given to her because she sounded like a a turbo-engine when she'd drive! My parents could hear me coming all the way down the street.
