Here's to ending August and starting September! Still think it's crazy that we're in September, but I'm ready!! This past weekend's weather made a dramatic change from 90's to 60/70 degree weather! My house was a frigid 65 degrees when we woke up this morning...thanks to my husband loving windows being open on cold nights.
Last night when we were outside we agreed that it even smelled like fall - which is pretty much our favorite season!! I love the temps where jeans and a short sleeve or light long-sleeve shirt and just perfect to be comfortable in. I love the leaves changing colors and the smell of bon-fires at night. I love that back-to-school feeling of energy and excitement that it will be another great year! I love high school football games and sometimes football on at home (ha - I can only take so much sports!)
Basically - I just love fall and today thought...I wish we could have, as teachers and students, half of summer off and half of fall off because that would be a little of each of my favorite seasons!! Maybe in another life time...
August 29 - Turbs comes to an end - this is the day I said goodbye to her!!
August 30 - 1st Day of School!!! New car, new school, new grades to teach!!!
(Yes - this is so early that the sun was not even up yet!)
August 31 - Sadie playing with, for the first time, a paper towel roll. She enjoyed it quite a bit!!
September 1 - Time to change the door decor!!
September 2 - Ravinia with the family! Doobie Brothers were playing and it was a really great time being together and listening to some great hits!!
September 3 - Maggie, Joe & Kailey are in town!! Out to dinner always includes a dessert with Jack's family!! Papa is quickly teaching Kailey the love for ice cream! We got to see just how it was done with Maggie & Jack as little kids, haha!!
...As you can see Kailey LOVES it and is very excited about Papa sharing with her!!
We "kids" went out for our own dessert after dinner to Yumz - my new frozen yogurt place I'm obsessed with!! Jack & Maggie were clearly taught from a young age and things haven't changed!! ...They even ordered the exact same thing haha!!
September 4 - Kailey takes on Lincoln Park Zoo!! This was my favorite from the day - such a happy little girl!!
September 5 - Kailey waving goodbye, as she's ready to go back home to Boston. We will miss you little one and we can't wait for Christmas!!!
