Blessed Twice Over

We couldn't feel more blessed for our double-the-fun adventure that will begin in March! That's right, identical twin boys are on the way!! Never did I imagine this being a possibility in my life, as I thought twins was only genetic. Turns out that identical twins (when the egg splits) has nothing to do with genetics and science really has no explanation why it happens. My take on it - that's what science isn't everything because God certainly had his hands in on this one and gave us a blessing for the books!! At our 9 week appointment, where we were only looking to hear "Everything's great and yep, you're pregnant", our lives changed forever when the Dr. instead said, "I've got a surprise for you! There's two! YOUR'RE HAVING TWINS!!" At that time I'm not sure if I wish someone had been video recording us or if I'm thankful that was not documented...but I'm sure our faces were priceless! After that initial shock wore off we settled into realizing how awesome this really is and what a gift, I mean gifts, we have been given! While it's been stressful throughout the whole pregnancy, and will probably continue...that's just how I am...it has been filled with SOOO much love, excitement and amazing memories with each other and our family and friends. One of the many awesome perks to being pregnant with twins is how many ultrasounds you get. I have MANY pictures of my boys and I get to see them swimming around much more often than a singleton pregnancy. I have to say that I LOVE being pregnant and it's been so much more fun to tell people that not only are we expecting, but we're expecting TWO! Keep the prayers and good thoughts comin' our way and thank you for all the support you've already all given us! We truly feel nothing but blessed and loved!

Cape Cod

After a few days in Boston we had a family vacation with Jack's family on Cape Cod. We stayed in Dennis Port at house that was perfectly decorated to make you feel like you were really at the cape!! It was so fun being together for more than 2-3 days, which is usually how visits happen when we all are together since we all aren't living in the same state. It was full of smiles, laughs, and great memories!! Kailey, our niece, is also going to be 2 in a few days and every time we see her she is just so much bigger. She was so fun and silly to spend time with and always kept us smiling!!
I also got to fly my first kite!!! Of course, it was a Disney princess kite! Kailey, 24 years younger than me, flew her first kite too!! It was so fun!!
Ever had Cape Cod Potato Chips?! Well, we love them and we even got to go on the factory tour!! Free chips at the end and an opportunity to buy new flavors that haven't been released yet. Heads up: waffle style are amazing, as well as the three cheese whole grain!!!
Our last day Jack and I went up to the tip-top of Cape Cod, to Provincetown for some whale watching!! It was one of the coolest things we've ever done/seen and I would totally do it again in a heartbeat! Nothing like seeing Humpback whales right in their own habitat, swimming and eating in their pods. Totally awesome!!!
Ended the day with a fabulous, fresh lobster roll - mmmmmmmm!!!!! As well as a trip to a local winery!!
It was such a fun week of beach time, ice-cream, and quality family time together in a great place we'd never been to before!

Boston Baby!

About 6-ish years ago I traveled to Boston for the first time and fell in love with it, completely fell in love! Lucky for us Jack's sister and her family have been living out there and they give us the best reason to visit! Even though this is our 4th time in the city, to me, it just never gets old and it always brings a huge smile to my face. This year we drove out for the first time - took us 20 hours (rest-stops for Sadie and us included) and we did it in 1 day...we will never do that again!!! While the drive was killer, it gave us two days to spend with our good friends, Kim and Ryan. Ryan was one of Jack's best-men and Kim was one of my bridesmaids...3 years later they're still together (compliments of our wedding, haha!!) They moved out there about a year ago, which now gives us two awesome reasons to visit Boston!!! A little recap of our fun times in Boston with great friends!! This was also Sadie's 1st trip to Boston and I made sure she hit all my favorite spots! :)
Then we ventured off to Cambridge (just over the bridge) to Harvard. Last time we were there it was a gloomy day and I was a little less than impressed with the campus. I wanted to give it a second chance to impress me...and it did, but Notre Dame is still the prettiest and most impressive campus in my mind!! Sadie enjoyed it though - she felt quite studious! After that we walked around Harvard Square - a true favorite of mine - and tried a PinkBerry frozen yogurt for the first time, which was very tasty!!
That night we went out to eat in the "North End" which is basically Italy in Boston! Walking down the cobblestone streets with all the old buildings, no chain restaurants, felt like we were in Harry Potter walking to get our wands, haha! It was really neat and love that every restaurant is unique and not a chain! We went to Ryan and Kim's favorite place and WOW was it ever amazing!! After we went and got canolis from a shop that had a line out the door - needless to say, I can see why, mmmm good!!
The next day we took in a Red Sox game at the famous Fenway Park!! Before hand we went to a local brewery right across the street from the ballpark - great food and drinks!!
AWESOME two days with our friends in my favorite city!!

3 Years!

Wow - I cannot believe it has been 3 years already! Today Jack and I celebrate our anniversary! Cheers to one AMAZING husband, an awesome and supportive marriage, and a love that is magical and stronger than ever! I must say, this 3rd year has been the best yet and I really believe that's the way it was meant to be. The first two years for us were still filled with lots of new. I've heard this from many people too, so I feel a little better about it, ha, but I'm thankful for it! We were very young, a little naive, we had new jobs (and mine during those two years were full of stress and quite a bit unhappiness), we were learning how to balance basically everything in our life as we did it together now, and again...I was not the most happy and pleasant person to live with...I give him a lot of credit!! I'm not saying my new job this past year was what made year 3 as amazing as it was, it did have a STRONG influence on it haha, but I think it just takes time for things to really "click". Don't they say do it or say it 3 times and then it sticks?! Well, 3 years and boy is it stronger than ever!! I think those first two years we learned A LOT about each other and A LOT about life. It was healthy and what we needed to grow as people and as a married couple, and I would never want to re-do those two years. But this third one, WOW! I'm the happiest I've been, we are happy and in-sink more than ever, and having FUN and SMILES part of our every single days is AMAZING!!! I look forward to the lifetime we have together more than ever!! A look back on our special day....
