Took a limo to the airport with my parents where we met Cindy & Jason. From there we spent 8 hours on a plane straight to Hawaii. Freakiest part - being over the ocean for 4 hours ...insert JAWS theme song! But we made it - thanks to Jack's ipad with many new movies for us to watch!!
Arrived at airport where my parents surprised us with a lei greeting! My parents had this done 15 years ago when we went and it was so fun to have this again - and see Jack all cute and Hawaiian in his lei!!
Got to hotel, quick unpacked and headed off down the beach to Duke's! Duke was a famous Hawaiian Olympian & surfer - this restaurant is dedicated to him and it's right on the beach & just super fun. BEST calamari we've ever had and their hot wings got my approval for sure!! Drinks - kept them coming by the many!!! Mai Tai's are Hawaii's special drink and my dad's favorite. As expected, my dad got Jack hooked & the two of them spent the whole trip drinking them wherever we went!! We ended up having dinner here as well, which turned out to be one of the best dinners we had the whole trip. Great fresh fish - which Jack also got hooked on the mahi mahi and had it every day at one of the 2-3 meals we ate.
